Jimei School Village is at various levels and schools ranging from primary to higher education and from cultural and artistic schools. It was an unnamed area covering 15 acres after its first establishment in 1923, with about 2000 teachers and students enrolled. The founder, Mr. Tan Kah Kee, has attracted the warlords and government to protect this area from wars in the early 20th century. Later the “perpetual peace school village” is admitted by Sun Yat-sen and the name, Jimei School Village is formally announced. The building is one of the selling points of this area, which blends architectural styles of tradition Fujian and Southeast Asia. Visit the Turtle Garden or The Former Residence of Mr. Tan Kah Kee. Or you can simply stroll around campus with no destination and appreciate this cozy feeling. Dragon boat match is held in here annually. Yell for them if you come in the game time!
